| Description |
English: Water-filled bomb crater. A similar crater is located just 100 metres to the north-west; see 1691630. See http://canmore.rcahms.gov.uk/en/site/291876/details/auchenreoch+glen/ (at Canmore) for details of both craters.
Visible in the background, in the right-hand side of the photo, are the slopes on the far side of the Spouts Burn (the intervening land dips out of sight along the glen of that burn). See 1691608 for a view of this crater from the other side. [The OS grid line passes almost through the middle of the pool. In both photographs of this crater, part of the subject, and all of the background, therefore lies in a different grid square from that of the photographer.] |
