Description U.S. Sailors salute as Warrant Officer of the Royal Australian Navy Mark Tandy arrives on the flight deck of the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) July 20, 2009, while under way in the Coral Sea. Tandy and Chief of the Royal Australian Navy Vice Adm. Russ Crane are visiting Essex during Talisman Sabre 2009 to discuss U.S. and Australian interoperability with senior leadership and to observe exercise activities. Talisman Sabre is a biennial joint military exercise between the United States and Australia focusing on operational and tactical interoperability.
