Object history
Deutsch: Aus dem Jahr 1458 ist der Abdruck eines Siegels überliefert, das wohl im späten 14. Jahrhundert entstanden ist. Baiersdorf wird seit 1353 als Stadt bezeichnet. Das Wappenbild hat sich bis heute nicht geändert. Die Vierung von Silber und Schwarz weist auf die damaligen Ortsherren, die Burggrafen von Nürnberg. Die Figur des Mannes änderte sich im Lauf der Jahre, sie wechselt vom wilden Mann zum Postboten, Wächter, Hirten oder Jäger. Vermutlich stellt sie einen Geleitsmann dar.
