Summary

[edit]
Description The Walled Channel is a 90-foot wide concrete lined channel that included drilled shaft walls with a shotcrete face. The drilled shaft walls are necessary due to the close proximity of the project to existing commercial buildings. This feature is about 800 feet in length and begins upstream of the Mission Road ramp and ends downstream of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe 3.8 Bridge. In addition to the concrete lined walls, energy dissipation measures are provided at the upper and lower ends of this feature. Work was completed on the Walled Channel in December of 2011.
