Summary[edit]
DescriptionWall, Julian Park - geograph.org.uk - 375827.jpg |
English: Wall, Julian Park Looking across fields to the east of the farm. The name "Julian Park" sounds very grand. There was once a castle, St Julian's Castle, which was the baronial seat of Lord Mauley, but there is no trace now from the map having been completely removed in the nineteenth century. As the de Mauleys also held Mulgrave Julian Park would probably have been more of a hunting lodge within the deer forest of Egton although there is evidence that it was in use as a permanent reidence in 1294. |
