Description
English: The picture shows two school buildings of Waldschule für kränkliche Kinder (translated: Forest school for sickly children) in the borrough of Westend, in the city of Charlottenburg, near Berlin, Germany. The very first open-air school worldwide was meant to prevent children from tuberculosis. It was located in the outskirts of Grunewald forest, since 1920 part of Germany's capital.
Deutsch: Das Foto zeigt zwei Schulgebäude der Waldschule für kränkliche Kinder im Westend der Stadt Charlottenburg bei Berlin. Die weltweit erste Freiluftschule war zur Vorbeugung gegen Tuberkulose und andere auf Immunschwäche zurückzuführende Krankheiten bei Kindern gedacht. Sie war im Westend der Stadt Charlottenburg bei Berlin am Rande des Grunewalds angesiedelt, seit 1920 Teil Berlins.
