A view of the rotted-off LVL joists that once supported the collapsed balcony deck.

Description
English: This view shows gaps in the blocking suggesting that there was air and vapor communication between the main building joist cavities and the balcony joist cavities. This is the north-facing wall of the building. Because this photo was taken near sundown, and near the summer solstice, the sunlight shown on the building is usually absent. The enclosed deck was likely a sink for concealed condensation of moisture sourced from elsewhere within the building envelope.
