Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Yali and rider. Kalyana Mandapa, Vitthala Temple, Vijayanagara

The pincushion-like turban, worn by this rider, indicates that he is a Muslim in the service of the court. Many buildings such as the Queen's Bath in the Royal Center also bear witness to a substantial Muslim population at the site.
