Português: Vista do Rio Mondego e dos Conventos de S. Francisco e de Santa Clara de Coimbra. Ponte do Ó ou Ponde de Santa Clara em Coimbra. Vista da antiga ponte de pedra que permitia a travessia do Mondego entre Santa Clara e Coimbra, edificada no reinando de D. Manuel I. Nesta gravura, da 1ª metade do século XIX, a Ponte do Ó está desenhada com grande rigor, vendo-se o tabuleiro estreito, os muros, os arcos, e a famosa praceta arredondada, vulgarmente designada por Ó. Serve de pano de fundo Santa Clara, com os conventos de Santa Clara-a-Velha, São Francisco e Santa Clara-a-Nova, e um trecho da estrada de Lisboa. O Mondego, com bastante correnteza, oferta-se ao olhar do pintor, com as barcas serranas de velas enfunadas, camponeses e lavadeiras. O pintor fez questão de deixar registo de uma carruagem em transito lento, avançando do Largo da Portagem (lado de Coimbra) para Santa Clara. Os que vinham do lado oposto teriam de aguardar no Ó para não congestionarem o transito. |
