Description
English: Head-piece to the second book of Kings. 2 Kings 18:4. Vignette with fire before a beheaded statue of a god, a crutch with snake, axe, platter and jug laying before a casket decorated with rams head in the foreground; Hezekiah breaking the images; letterpress in two columns below and on verso. 1794. Inscriptions: Lettered below image with production detail: "P. J. de Loutherbourg del", "J. Landseer Aq forti Fecit" and publication line: "Published Feby 2 1794 by T Macklin, Fleet St London". Print made by John Landseer. Dimensions: height: 485 millimetres; width: 397 millimetres.
