| Description |
English: View From King Barrow Ridge, Wiltshire Looking out to the west, across Salisbury Plain.
This view is scheduled to change in the near future. Towards the left of picture, a line of traffic can be seen on the busy A303. On either side of the tree in the foreground (right), the outline of the A344 road can be seen. This road will be removed, and the Stonehenge Visitor Centre (seen on the right of picture) will be moved to the other side of the distant woods, seen on the skyline to the extreme right of picture. All the changes, scheduled to be completed by 2012, will mean that Stonehenge (seen to the left of the foreground tree), will appear in a more suitable "historic" setting. |
