Description
English: Display case showcasing a private collection of military memorabilia, awards, decorations, and uniform insignia and badges from World War I and II, originating from various countries such as the UK, Belgium, France, Russia, the Soviet Union, and Germany.
  • The photo was taken on September 3, 2011, during the Victory Show 2011, held in the small village of Cosby, Leicestershire, UK. The Victory Show is the largest event in the country, commemorating World War II on a 100-acre site at Foxlands Farm every September. The event features historical reenactments of military events, including a battle and an air display.
  • The photographer's Flickr album contains photos of WWII militaria, including weapons, ammunition, uniforms, insignia, personal equipment, reproductions, and originals, available for reenactment and as collector's items on sale at the trade stalls (militaria fair), as well as vehicles, trucks, tanks, aircraft, cannons, tractors, tents, vintage automobiles, and more in the public visitor areas/reenactors' camp. The collection mainly consists of contemporary WW2 gear and replicas, used by military units of Nazi Germany (Wehrmacht), United Kingdom (British Armed Forces), USA (United States Armed Forces), and others.
