Description Vice President Dick Cheney addresses over 8,000 military and civilian personnel and their families, Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Neb. "Every day you go on duty, you make this nation safer, and you show the world that the people who wear this country's uniform are men and women of skill, and perseverance, and honor," the Vice President said. "Standing here today, in the great American heartland, I want to thank each and every one of you for the vital work you do, and for your example of service and character."
