Summary[edit]

Description

This morning there was a total lunar eclipse visible from most of the Americas and west to eastern Asia. We were fortunate to have a nice night here, so it was pleasant to watch the show and take pictures. Of course there was the little matter of getting up at 2AM and staying up until now.

The sequence shows the moon coming out of the eclipse as it moves down and right. The first six shots are evenly spaced at 2 minutes 30 seconds apart.

The sequence would look much better with even spacing all the way, but I had to change the exposure as the eclipse ended (and the moon brightened). The software I used (Canon's EOS Capture) required me to stop and restart the timing in order to do that. Yet another thing to do better next time.
