Deutsch: Schloss Maria Loretto im Jahre 1680 in Klagenfurt / Kärnten / Österreich / Europäische Union. Westansicht. Ansicht gegen Osten. Im Hintergrund Sankt Martin und der Kalvarienberg. Abbildung aus J. W. Valvasor: Topographia Archiducatus Carinthiae antiquae et modernae completa. Bildtext:
„Maria Loreto. Der Palast Maria Loreto / (oder Lauretta) ligt im untern Viertheil / an dem Mülstätter See / zwischen Klagenfurt und Velden. Hat den namen von der Capellen / Maria Lauretanea. So auf der Tafel in dem Wörd-See stehet. Diese Insul ist erhoben / und der See gehet um und um. / Von Clagenfurt gehet ein grosser und tieffer Canal / darauf mit grossen Schiffen biß in den See gefahren wird. Bey dem See ist ein schöner Eingang / von einer hohen Mauer / und 2. runden / wie auch 2. schönen viereckigten Thürnen / darzwischen ein hohes Thor / dadurch man mit Schiffen fähret; darneben ist eine hölzerne Brucken / darüber man reiten und fahren kan / ganz in die Insul / darauf ein überaus schöner Palast / auf die Italiänische Art gebaut. Auswendig hat es schöne Gallerien/Hofe/Stiegen/ und viel Thürne/ auch zierliche und grosse Gärten. In Summa/ es kann nichts lustigers seyn/ als dieses Ort/ so von denen Herren Ursinen/Grafen von Rosenberg/ erbauet worden. Von aussen ist es so groß nicht anzusehen / ob es wol inwendig viel schöne Zimmer/ und bequeme Gemächer/ samt einem grossen lustigen Saal hat. Und dieses gehört jetzt Ihro Gräfl. Excell. Herrn/Herrn Wolff Andreen Ursin/ Grafen von Rosenberg/ Ihrer Keyserl. Majest. Hof-Cammer-Presidenten in Wien zc. zc. Unweit davon ist die Probstey Wörd genannt/ an dem Wörd-See ligend/ welcher zwo starcke Teutsche Meil lang/ und gar breit ist/ auch im Winter so starck überfrieret/ daß man darauf reiten/ und mit schwer beladenen Wägen fahren kann. Diese Probstey/ oder das Gotteshaus Wörd/hat erstens ohngefähr A.C.1000.
