In the Val Cristallina, on the way to the water extraction site WF Uffiern of the power plants that feeds the <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/kecko/52272294248/">reservoir</a> on the Lukmanier Pass. The Val Cristallina branches off from the Lukmanier Pass road and was an almost untouched valley for centuries. There was a mule track over the Cristallina Pass and an alp in the front part of the valley. When the power plants built the reservoir on the Lukmanier Pass in the 1960s, this road was laid out here. It leads to the water extraction site at the beginning of the Val Uffiern, at the end of the Val Cristallina. Another nearby water intake is in the Val Casatscha, but can only be reached via a footpath that branches off. Until a few hundred meters before the end of the valley, the road follows the river and rises only gently. In the lower part, the road is quite wide, as it was also used by army tanks from the 1980s.
