DUXBAR UTAH SINCE STATEHOOD 627 business of boot and slioemaking, a trade which he learned in his boyhood days inBrigham under the direction of Charles Kelly, the pioneer shoemaker of the city. Hefollowed the trade for about ten years, when on account of an accident whereby he lostone hand he established a shop of his own, in which others might do the manual labor.He continued in the business for a number of years, or until about 1895, and was alsoengaged in freighting between Ogden and Brigham. He is now living retired, enjoyingthe fruits of an active and well spent life. He is a member of the Church of JesusChrist of Latter-day Saints of the first ward and is very devout and active in churchwork.
