Description |
The children of Dr. William Anderson Scott (1813-1885), an Old School Presbyterian clergyman in New Orleans, Louisiana and their nurse, Mila or Elmira. The spire of the First Presbyterian Church where Dr. Scott was pastor is visible at the center of the city’s skyline. Tax records indicate that a slave "Mila" was gifted to Scott's wife Ann by her father in 1830.[1][2] |
