Description
English: Title: Un' infornata di nuovo genere

Abstract: Italian political cartoon shows a mock execution of a man labeled "Inglese", identified in the caption as "John Bull", by force feeding him a ladle full of small cakes or bread labeled "Bosforo", "Dardanell", Arcipelago", "Gibilterro", and "Malta", by a man labeled "Russo" who is being held back by a man labeled "Austria" who is being pushed forward by a man labeled "Prussia". The victim's arms are being held on one side by a man labeled "Serbo" and on the other by a black man labeled "Indiano d'America". His mouth is being held open by a man labeled "Lord Gladstone per la Pace" who is standing behind him with a large olive branch stuck in his hat. Three men, representing Spain, Greece labeled "Greco", and Italy, are peering over a brick wall, each is holding a large clyster syringe. Physical description: 1 print : chromolithograph ; sheet 42 x 59.3 cm.
