DescriptionUS presidential election badges.jpg |
English: Yesterday my lovely friend Glenda Sims sent me an Obama t-shirt and pin in the mail (as UK citizens cannot buy directly from the Obama online store). In the bottom of the box was the loveliest surprise.
Over IM a few days earlier, I had told Glenda about the "I'm For Nixon" and "America Needs Nixon" pins that I bought at the Lyndon Baines Johnson library in Austin two years ago. Glenda lives in Austin and so she took a trip back to the library to buy me this set of lovely US presidential pins as a surprise gift, some of them dating back to the 1870s. These are all originals, not replicas. Let me say it now, "Glenda Sims is a truly lovely person." Info from: www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781450.html I've tried my best to add correct notes, but not being a historian there are a few holes and I'm sure a few mistakes. Feel free to correct them. |
