DescriptionUS diplomat Tom Armbruster visits the cargo ship Bright Stream.jpg |
Consul General Visits a Cargo Ship On November 22, 2008, Consul General Tom Armbruster and Commercial Specialist Irina Podsushnaya met the Bright Stream cargo ship on its arrival in the Far East Russian port of Vladivostok. The ship carried 584,000 kg of U.S. cargo, including cranes, dump trucks, ATVs, trailers, oil well supplies, autos, and mining equipment from several U.S. states: Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Washington, Oregon, and Maine. Far Eastern Shipping Company (FESCO) offers regular cargo service between the U.S. west coast and the Russian Far East. It charters ships for its three direct shipping lines between Everett, WA and Vladivostok, and operates additional container lines from both the U.S. West and East coasts to the Russian Far East through Pusan, Korea. Because of the steady growth in exports from the U.S. to the Russian Far East, FESCO will begin using its own ship, the Vasily Burkhanov, for the Everett to Vladivostok routes in 2009. |
