DescriptionUS carriers at Yokosuka Naval Base c1955.jpg | View of the U.S. Navy base at Yokosuka, Japan, in 1955-56. visible are the aircraft carriers USS Hancock (CVA-19) and USS Point Cruz (CVE-119). Hancock was deployed with assigned Carrier Air Group 12 (CVG-12) to the Western Pacific from 10 August 1955 to 15 March 1956. Point Cruz served as flagship of Carrier Division 15 and departed Yokosuka on 31 January 1956 for the U.S. West Coast for inactivation. |
