Description
English: Houston, Texas (Mar. 2, 2005) - Commander, Naval Reserve Force, Vice Adm. John G. Cotton tells a young patient at the Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital a story about the Sailors aboard USS Bataan (LHD 5). Vice Adm. Cotton presented each child he visited a command ball cap, a photo of USS Houston (SSN 713) and a certificate inducting each into the Navy for one day. Cotton and crew members from Houston visited the children’s ward of the Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital Shriners Hospitals Houston as part of the Navy “Caps for Kids” program during Houston Navy Week. The Houston Navy Week was the first of 20 such weeks planned this year in cities throughout the U.S., arranged by the Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO).
