English: Pensacola, Fla. (Mar. 18, 2004) – An F-14B Tomcat assigned to the "Jolly Rogers" of Fighter Squadron One Zero Three (VF-103) sits in front of the lighted island hull number aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) as part of a static display for tours held at a recent port visit in Pensacola, Florida. Upon completion of a successful Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX), the Kennedy is in transit back to its homeport of Mayport, Florida from the Gulf of Mexico. COMPTUEX is an intermediate level exercise designed to forge the strike group into a cohesive fighting team and is a critical step in pre-deployment training. During COMPTUEX, more than a dozen ships and Carrier Air Wing One Seven (CVW-17) conducted war game exercise using training ranges along the East Coast of the U.S. and the Gulf of Mexico.
