Description
English: Atlantic Ocean (Jan. 27, 2004) – Photographer’s Mate 1st Class Brian Goyak, from Smethpoet, Pa., and Photographer’s Mate 1st Class Daniel Wolsey, from Springville, Utah, assigned to “Pukin’ Dogs” of Fighter Squadron One Four Three (VF-143) check equipment settings in one of four bays within the Tactical Air Reconnaissance Pod System (TARPS). The TARPS Pod contains two camera bays for the KS-87 Frame camera for vertical and forward oblique imagery. The KA-99 panoramic camera is designed for horizon to horizon reconnaissance, and can be swapped out with the KS-153 framing camera designed for oblique reconnaissance imagery at altitudes above 10,000 feet. The “Pukin’ Dogs and the Norfolk, Va.-based nuclear powered aircraft carrier are on a scheduled deployment. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer’s Mate Airman Joan Kretschmer. (RELEASED)
