English: Camp Patriot, Kuwait (Feb. 17, 2003) - More than 1,000 U.S. Marines assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines arrive at Camp Patriot, Kuwait. Coming ashore via Landing Craft Utility (LCU) vehicles as part of the Amphibious Task Force East offload, the Marines immediately transited to their next assigned duties in the Central Command Area of Operation. Camp Patriot is the location for Commander, Task Group 51.8 (CTG 51.8). The joint command is comprised of multiple units from the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard.
