Summary[edit]

Description The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Wasp (CV-18) in late 1951. Wasp underwent the SCB-27A reconstruction at the New York Navy Yard beginning in September 1948, and was completed and recommissioned on 28 September 1951. She made her shakedown cruise from November 1951 to February 1952 to the Western Atlantic with Carrier Air Group One (CVG-1) embarked.
