DescriptionUSS Saratoga (CV-60) at sea in October 1982.jpeg	The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Saratoga (CV-60) underway in the Atlantic Ocean on 22 October 1982, conducting post-modernization trials. Saratoga underwent the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) overhaul the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, Pennsylvanina (USA), from 1 October 1980 to 2 February 1983. During the sea trials, several problems were soon found, including improper welding of boiler tubes, and she was inoperative for several months. The carrier deployed again in April 1984.
