Description
English: Aerial view of Norfolk Naval Shipyard at Portsmouth, Virginia (USA), in 1969 with three aircraft carrier undergoing overhaul. To the left USS America (CVA-66) is visible in the dry dock. In the center is the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVA-42), which got her forward centerline elevator replaced by a deck edge elevator (starboard forward). To the right is USS Independence (CVA-62).
