English: Quartermaster Seaman Tom Vest uses an alidade navigation device to relay bearings-from-land readings to the quartermasters inside the pilothouse, allowing navigation department to triangulate the position of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard as the ship prepares to cross the San Diego Bay Bridge.
