English: SAQLAWIYAH, Iraq - Corporal Daniel McNeill, a mortar man with Company A, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, provides security outside Saqlawiyah's police station while his patrol passes by. Saqlawiyah had no police force until several months ago, when U.S. Marines helped facilitate their entry back into the city. Currently, the policemen patrol the rural township's streets to maintain civil order and acquaint themselves with the citizens, as Marines continue to train them on community policing and public relations skills. |
