Description

Whilst searching (a wild goose chase if there ever were one) the Stoke Newington Oblast of the Socialist Repubic of Hackney for stone clad houses what should I come across, but an entirely appropriate UK registered UAZ - er - people carrier? Perhaps "Masses carrier" is better. The off centre shot is deliberate to capture the ambience of the area.....CPZ etc etc. I think these somewhat sinister looking 452s would be great as UK police swat vehicles, searching the streets for Flickr photographers snapping things like buses or pillar boxes, and putting on the wailing siren as they screech to a halt beside you, camera in hand, and bundle you into the back to be taken away for interrogation as a terr@rist suspect.(Yawn....here we go again) The УАЗ stands for Ulyanovsky Avtomobilny Zavod - Ульяновский Автомобильный Завод . In other words, made in Lenin's home town.
