Description
English: U.S. Navy Flight Nurses practice how to get an unconscious person into a life raft, at Naval Air Station Alameda, California (USA), circa 1944-45. They were being trained in aircraft ditching proceedures, by Lt. H.M. Pickett. Nurses were (L-R): Ensign Patty Freeburger, Ensign Betty Markell, Ensign Norma Harrison and Lt.(jg) Stella Makar ("victim"). Note the markings on the raft.
