Description
English: U.S. Marines assigned to Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force South and Peruvian marines inspect the engine of a U.S. Marine Corps light armored vehicle during a tour of the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in Callao, Peru, Sept. 1, 2014. The newly commissioned amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) embarked on a mission to conduct training engagements with partner nations throughout the Americas before reporting to its new home port of San Diego. The America was set to be ceremoniously commissioned Oct. 11, 2014.
