THE STARSTRUCK VISUALIZATION DEVELOPED AT THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST NATIONAL LABORATORY. IN THE FIELD OF COMPUTER SCIENCE THE STARSTRUCK VISUALIZATION IS INTENDED TO REPRESENT DIFFERENT LEVELS OF GRANULARITY IN INFORMATION SPACES AND TO GIVE MEANING TO THE SHAPE OF CLUSTERS IN THE INFORMATION SPACE. THE VISUALIZATION SHOWS THERMATIC PATTERNS OVER A GROUP OF DOCUMENTS. THE INDIVIDUAL PLANAR STARBURSTS FOR THE GROUP ARE ALIGNED ALONG AN INVISIBLE ROD IN SPACE.
