Description
English: U.S. Air Force Capt. William Cerat, left, a C-17 Globemaster III pilot assigned to the 6th Airlift Squadron, starts his aircraft’s engines April 26, 2012, at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. Cerat and his crew flew Sailors assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 12 and their equipment from Naval Air Station Norfolk, Va., to Sydney, Nova Scotia, to participate in Ardent Sentry 2012. Ardent Sentry is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM)-directed exercise focusing on defense support of civil authorities in response to simulated weather, security and disaster contingencies. While Ardent Sentry is primarily a command post exercise, several field training events were conducted at various locations within the USNORTHCOM area of responsibility.
