Summary

[edit]
Description These images show cross sections of a typical LHP evaporator, also known as a capillary pump. In the side view, liquid enters from the right though a tube into the liquid core. From the core, it permeates the wick and evaporates from the outer surface at the vapor channels. Menisci are developed at the evaporating interface causing the pressure of the exiting vapor to be higher than that of the entering liquid.
