Summary

[edit]
Description This photo was taken in Walworth County, Wisconsin. This soil is formed in glacial till on a nearly level slope. The ground water table is at or near the surface during the spring in normal years. Crayfish channels filled with surface horizon (mollic horizon) are prominent subsoil features known as krotovina. Native vegetation consists of various marsh grasses but many areas have been drained by ditches and tile and are extensively used for grain crop production.
