Summary

[edit]
Description Tutt weighs in at 650 grams on April 9, 2012. He is growing in his "big bird feathers" (primary wing and tail feathers). The bluish color in the feather sheath is from the blood supply necessary for growing the geathers. When the feathers are all the way in, the blood supply dries up and leaves the hollow shaft we generally associate with a feather. He is getting more brown as his body feathers are starting to come in. Photo by Vanessa Avaro.
