Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Turbulators seen on the top surface of an inactive Südwind S 70 1500 kW turbine blade. The air velocity (and thus Reynolds number) increases as one travels outwards along the blade span. As the Reynolds number increases, the boundary layer becomes more turbulent and more resistant to flow separation, and the separation point is moved downstream. As a result, the turbulence-inducing turbulators are positioned further downstream, and are of smaller size, as one progresses outwards along the span.
