Text
[edit]Trying to Find Mother. After endeavoring through every available channel to learn the whereabouts of his mother, from whom he has been separated for fifteen years. John J. Patterson, 22 years, of 117 North Tenth street, has asked The Inquirer to try, through its columns, to locate the missing parent. Mother and son became separated in New York city in 1892 as the result of a family quarrel. Since that time the young man has been trying to find his mother and thereby reestablish the old home. Mrs. Patterson would now be forty years of age. Her maiden name was Blanche Kingsmore.
Notes
[edit]After reading this, my thoughts were: "Did Blanche Kingsmore run off, take her own life, or did Richard Barnsley Patterson II kill her". She hasn't appeared in the census, or in the marriage, or death records yet. Richard Barnsley Patterson II remarried on 21 July 1892, the year of the disappearance. I have not found a divorce record from Blanche Kingsmore yet. (Source: Richard Arthur Norton on June 16, 2023)
