The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on board NASA’s Aqua satellite acquired a true-color image of Tropical Cyclone Wallace on April 7.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: On April 5, 2019, Tropical Cyclone Wallace (23S) formed off the Kimberly Coast of Western Australia. It was moving west-southwest, roughly paralleling the coastline. By April 8, Wallace reached peak strength, with maximum sustained winds nearing 75 mph (120 km/h). As of 8:41 a.m. EDT (8:41 p.m. WST local time, Western Australia) on April 8, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (ABM) reported that Tropical Cyclone Wallace was located near 15.8 degrees south latitude and 115.8 east longitude. That’s about 560 km (348 miles) north northwest of Karratha. Wallace was moving southwest at 17 kilometers (10.5 miles) per hour. Maximum sustained winds had decrease to about 69 mph/110 km/h at that time. By April 9, Wallace was beginning to weaken as it moved away from the Australian coastline, with maximum sustained winds down to 52 mph (83 km/h) at 8:00 a.m. EDT (8:00 p.m. AWST local time). The storm is expected to continue to weaken as it tracks westward, away from Australia. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on board NASA’s Aqua satellite acquired a true-color image of Tropical Cyclone Wallace on April 7. The circular-shaped storm was spinning around a poorly-formed, cloud-filled center. The outer edge of storm bands were just reaching parts of the Australian coastline.
