Nederlands: Foto. Het meisje Mè-oe-mè komt uit het dorp Keementi dat noordelijker ligt op het eiland Sajè. Haar kleding bestaat uit een Kaikon, over de schouders naar achter gedragen, een kwei over haar geslachtsdeel, gewikkeld aan het koordje, genoemd kamitèté en drie amuletten om haar hals. Verder is ze getatoeëerd op de buik. De tatoeage was bedoeld als mode en versiering van het lichaam, maar ook om te betasten door de man tijdens seksuele omgang met de vrouw. De vrouw op deze foto is inmiddels overleden. Zij behoorde in het dorp Puketi te wonen omdat haar moeder daarvandaan kwam, binding aan geboortegrond gaat via matrilineaire lijn.

Hendes tøj består af en Kaikon, bæres over skuldrene tilbage, en Kwei over hendes kønsdele, indpakket i tråde, kaldet kamitète og tre amuletter omkring hendes hals. Hun er også tatoveret på maven. Tatoveringen var tænkt som mode og udsmykning af kroppen, men også for at famle af manden under samleje med kvinden. Kvinden i dette billede er nu afdøde. Hun hørte i landsbyen Puketi at deltage, fordi hendes mor kom derfra, arvefølgen til jorden går gennem kvindelinjen. |
