Summary[edit]

Description
English: Idealised single-phase en:transformer showing path of en:magnetic flux through the core. en:Magnetic flux is produced by the primary winding, and contained by the high permeability core, links the secondary winding. The en:mutual inductance between the two windings results in an induced en:voltage on the secondary side, whose magnitude is determined by the ratio of turns between the two windings. Created in en:Inkscape. == Reference == Daniels, A (1976). Introduction to Electrical Machines. Macmillan Publishers. ISBN 0-333-19627-9.
