Lithograph shows Nelson`s Column in the centre, with early recumbent lions on plinths at the base; National Gallery beyond, St.Martin`s Church on the right, with Charing Cross Road. In the centre foreground left is a statue of a man on horseback, surrounded by an iron railing. The streets surrounding are bustling with people with horse drawn carriages, hackney cabs, horse drawn omnibuses, threepenny stagecoaches to Chelsea & Waterloo, two Guards officers on horseback, various people on foot, including a woman pushing a wheelbarrow, a couple pulling a cart, and various groups walking, running for carriages or standing in conversation, a small dog in the foreground.
