English: THE EXISTENCE OF THE MARINE CULTURE OF THE SEA PICKING TRADITION IN MUNCAR BANYUWANGI Patik sea is an expression of gratitude from the Muncar fishing community for the sustenance and safety given by God through nature, especially the sea. The sea picking ritual is held once every year at the beginning of the month of Muharram or the month of Syuro by residents who live on the coast. The focus of the article will be to reveal the form of myth in the sea picking ceremony in Muncar, the ritual procession, and the religious values ​​contained therein. This paper uses a qualitative approach. In conclusion, a series of sea picking events combines Islamic teachings and ancient customs. The aims and objectives of the various maritime alms ceremonies are usually the same, namely asking God to grant fishermen abundant marine products in the coming year and to be protected from disasters while at sea.
