Summary[edit]

Description
English: The history of the Norinska Tower represents the history of the entire Neretva valley. Because of its sights and historical memories, the settlement that was formed on the other side of the Neretva was named after it - Kula Norinska, and today it is the seat of the municipality of the same name. The importance of the tower is evidenced by the fact that it was on the old coat of arms of the former Opuzen municipality, under which it belonged administratively, and is still today in the coat of arms of the town of Opuzen. The tower was erected as a defender of the Turkish Empire against the invasion of Venetian ships in the Neretva. It was used for military purposes until the 19th century when it was turned into a windmill, and today it is a valuable cultural monument, unfortunately quite neglected and overgrown with ivy.
