L'irrégularité dans la rive de ce très petit cours d'eau est assez proche de ce que les mécaniciens des fluides appellent "une marche descendante" : Derrière une marche descendante se forme toujours un tourbillon.
On observe que le courant extérieur au tourbillon entretien la rotation dudit tourbillon. Finalement, le tourbillon "carène" l'irrégularité de la rive.
De fait, si l'on installe un jeu de marches descendantes sur le culot d'une remorque de poids-lourd, les tourbillons qui s'y établissent carènent ce culot (comme autant de tapis roulants) et font notablement baisser son .
