Français : Première date vue d'un cachet T.O.E.. Celui-ci comporte une croix de Lorraine à la place de la levée. Il s'agit du BPM 180 de Calcutta 31/7/46. On notera que la censure a barré "CALCUTTA" lieu géographique interdit dans les adresses militaires.

MISE EN SERVICE DES TIMBRES-À-DATE "POSTE AUX ARMÉES / T.O.E.".

JUILLET 1946 :

Le décret et l'arrêté du 25 février 1946 ayant conduit à de nombreuses taxations de plis d'origine militaire, un timbre-à-date spécial avec mention T.O.E. (Théâtre d'Opérations Extérieures) est créé pour tous les militaires en opération (Levant, Indes, Indochine, Djibouti..). Ce cachet justifie à lui seul le droit à la franchise militaire. Les cachets portent dans le bloc dateur une croix de Lorraine, une étoile, ou rien. Première date vue 31/7/46.
