English: Timeline of federal minimum hourly wage for nonfarm workers for the United States. In nominal and inflation-adjusted dollars. FRED source page says it is inflation adjusted via the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers: All Items in U.S. City Average (CPIAUCSL). At that source page you can run cursor over graph to see minimum wages pop up for specific months. From the peak value of $12.74 in February 1968 it declines to $7.25 in July 2021. That is a decline of $5.49, or 43% (5.49 / 12.74). |
